DEVIL ELECTRIC ARE:
PIERINA O’BRIEN (Vocals)
CHRISTOS ATHANASIAS (Guitar)
TOM HULSE (Bass & Vocals)
MARK VAN DE BEEK (Drums)

Australian 4 piece Devil Electric produce a hard hitting rock n’ roll sound, that echoes from the original hard rock greats of the ‘70s.

Since their formation in mid-2015 the band has fast gained recognition and praise for their work, both
locally and globally. Devil Electric’s full length album debut on Rolling Stone Australia and was later
featured as Bandcamp ‘Album of the Day’. Recently, Devil Electric’s track ‘Hypnotica’ (the first single from the self titled album) was featured on Triple M, the second largest radio network in Australia.
Devil Electric are Pierina O’Brien (Vocals), Christos Athanasias (Guitar), Tom Hulse (Bass & Vocals) and Mark Van De Beek (Drums). The four members met through the Melbourne underground music scene.
Having all performed in other bands, they crossed paths here and there and shared a friendly drink along the way. Eventually their shared passion for the darker side of rock n’ roll drew them together to work on a new project that would become Devil Electric.

Their direction was clear, stay true to their influences but not to let them define their sound. Heavy, dark riffs and lyrics blended with a powerful voice.

As soon as they got together, the band began writing the bones of what would later become the EP. Devil Electric independently recorded and released their debut EP ‘The Gods Below’ in June 2016. The 4 track resume was enough to have the band recognised and signed to German record label Kozmik Artifactz for the release their debut self-titled album in 2017.

Devil Electric have worked hard to build their solid performing reputation and engrained themselves in
the global music scene. In 2016 the band supported some of the biggest names in the underground rock
scene including: Truckfighters (Sweden), The Sword (USA), Endless Boogie (USA), Kadavar (Ger), The Sigit (Indonesia), Supersuckers (USA) as well as a long list of Australian acts including The Peep Tempel, Dallas Frasca and many more.

In May 2016 the band were selected to perform at Melbourne’s CherryRock Festival in AC/DC Lane
alongside 12 other local and international acts. Following the festival, Devil Electric toured the east coast of Australia opening for Indonesia’s premier rock n’ roll band, The Sigit – their first time back to Australia since touring with Dallas Crane in 2007. The latter part of 2016 saw the band return to the studio to record their debut album, whilst also performing across Victoria and interstate in Summer of 2017. The bands profile has risen rapidly through these quality performances and keen attitude to touring.

In 2017 the band released album single ‘Hypnotica’ with an accompanying video, which once again
reinforced the professional approach to their brand and image, gaining airplay on Australian music video program Rage. ‘Lady Velvet’ was the second single released off the self-titled album and was picked up for airplay across Triple J, Australia’s premier youth broadcaster. The band has also been on regular rotation at community radio stations Triple R and PBS, having performed live to air on the latter.

Devil Electric also performed with Indonesian heavy psych band Kelompok Penerbang Roket and fellow
‘70s hard rock revivalists, Mooner on their Australian tours in May. The band are aiming to tour Indonesia in December 2017, which will mark their first time touring internationally. The band see the importance to their growth to perform with bands both in Australia but also in neighbouring countries to build relationships and spread the love for their particular brand of rock n’ roll.

The debut album ‘Devil Electric’ was released through Kozmik Artifactz on August 11 2017. The album went on to debut at #4 on the AIR charts, selling out the first pressing of vinyl within 2 weeks of its release. Devil Electric continues to gain heavy traction through their quick growing fan base, social media and the online audience. The band has shipped records and merchandise to fans and stores across 17+ countries as their reach and demand continues to build.

To coincide with the Indonesian tour, Devil Electric are releasing special edition tapes and CD’s of both the album and EP through Bhang Records, Bandung Indonesia and Sacred Blue Records in Australia.
To support the release of the album, Devil Electric set out on an extensive 15-date Australian tour playing to audiences across the country and receiving the approval of their fans on home soil.
The band have great ambitions for the future and are focused to reach great new heights with their music.
