PAPERMOON PUPPET THEATRE
Papermoon Puppet Theatre didirikan sejak April 2006 di Yogyakarta, oleh Maria Tri Sulistyani (Ria) bersama Iwan Effendi. Kini Papermoon Puppet Theatre bekerja secara kolektif bersama Anton Fajri, Pambo Priyojati, dan Beni Sanjaya.
Selain membuat pertunjukan, Papermoon Puppet Theatre juga mempresentasikan instalasi seni visual, berbagi pengetahuan melalui berbagai macam workshop dan sejak tahun 2008, menginisiasi sebuah festival teater boneka dua tahunan berskala internasional bernama Pesta Boneka.
Papermoon sendiri telah mempresentasikan karya-karyanya tidak hanya di Indonesia, tetapi juga hingga ke berbagai negara seperti Amerika Serikat, Belanda, Jepang, Malaysia, Singapura, Australia, Inggris, Jerman, Myanmar, Filipina dan Thailand.
PESTA BONEKA
Pesta Boneka adalah sebuah ruang untuk bertemu dan berinteraksi, tidak hanya bagi para seniman teater boneka dari Indonesia dan berbagai penjuru dunia, tetapi juga bagi siapa saja. Melalui Pesta Boneka, publik diharapkan bisa melihat bagaimana teater boneka digunakan dan berperan dalam menyampaikan pesan, dan ikut terlibat di dalamnya. Memilih tema “The Journey”, Pesta Boneka tahun ini mengajak semua orang untuk merayakan makna atas sebuah perjalanan, pengalaman, dan penghargaan atas keragaman budaya dan kultur yang kita temui.
Pesta Boneka 2018 adalah yang keenam kali diadakan, bertempat di IFI Yogyakarta dan Java Poetry Resto (12 – 13 Oktober 2018) dan Desa Kepek – Bantul (14 Oktober 2018). Pemilihan lokasi yang berbeda, tidak hanya dalam artspace tapi juga di desa, bertujuan memberikan tantangan bagi para seniman untuk saling berinteraksi, mengeksplorasi seluas-luasnya, dan menghasilkan karya baru.
Tahun ini merupakan kali pertama Pesta Boneka membuka pendaftaran bagi peserta. Proses kurasi pun dilakukan oleh Ria, mulai dari profil seniman hingga proses kekaryaannya, dan yang paling penting, keinginan seniman itu sendiri untuk berbagi.
Melalui berbagai proses ini, pada akhirnya sebanyak 29 grup/seniman multi disiplin dari 17 negara, seperti Indonesia, Jepang, Thailand, Amerika Serikat, Canada, Argentina, Australia, Polandia dan Perancis akan hadir dan mempresentasikan proses kreatif mereka dalam 31 sesi pertunjukan selama tiga hari pelaksanaan festival. Bagi publik yang ingin menyaksikan pertunjukan, tidak akan dipungut biaya tetapi cukup dengan memberikan donasi berupa buku cerita anak (non-religi).
Selain pertunjukan, 17 sesi lokakarya digelar sejak bulan September hingga 14 Oktober 2018, bersamaan dengan sesi diskusi/bincang seniman dan pemutaran film. Melengkapi menu Pesta Boneka #6, When Puppeteers Cook tentu tak boleh dilewatkan. Diawali dengan belanja di pasar tradisional, nantinya tiap grup seniman akan memasak makanan favoritnya untuk disantap bersama warga Desa Kepek dan seluruh pengunjung.
