Produser musik elektronik asal Singapura yang tengah naik daun di Asia
Tenggara, JUN (sebelumnya dikenal sebagai MMXJ), hari ini resmi merilis versi remix dari lagu
“Love We’ll Find” dimana versi originalnya sendiri sudah dirilis pada 29 Juli lalu. Versi remix
ini digarap oleh Produser/ Disc Jockey (DJ) ternama asal Indonesia, Dipha Barus. Lagu ini sudah
dapat dinikmati di semua layanan streaming musik digital.
Pada lagu “Love We’ll Find” versi original sendiri, JUN menggambarkan tentang kondisi saat
berada dalam sebuah hubungan baru dan mencoba menemukan cinta serta dukungan dari orang
lain. Ini adalah cerminan dari pengalaman pribadi JUN dengan masalah kesehatan. “Saya
menulis “Love We’ll Find” dengan dua teman yang sangat berbakat di LA (Simone LeCesne &
Kevin Wild) setelah melalui masa patah hati yang berat. Meskipun saya merasa hancur, tetapi
saya tetap percaya dan ingin menyampaikan melalui lagu ini bahwa dengan optimisme dan
keyakinan suatu saat nanti, mereka yang mencari akan dapat menemukan cinta lagi.” ucap JUN.
Terinspirasi akan karya-karya Gryffin dan Illenium, JUN pada versi originalnya membawakan
suara synth yang kental dan berciri khas yang kuat lalu disertai iringan vokal melankolis dari
kolaboratornya, Simone, seakan mengawali perjalanan kita untuk terbang menembus lapisan
awan halus menuju atmosfer dan diakhiri dengan suara clash dan synth yang tebal seperti
membuat badan terjatuh.
Setelah beberapa bulan dari rilisnya Love We’ll Find, akhirnya JUN memutuskan untuk
mengajak Dipha sebagai remixer yang tepat pada lagu ini. Dipha berujar bahwa dia merasa
senang pada saat tawaran remix ini datang, “Saya sebelumnya sudah menyukai versi original
lagu ini, jadi ketika tawaran ini datang saya hanya akan mengubah sedikit saja aransemen
originalnya, terlebih dengan vokal Simone yang cocok dengan musik dan aransemennya hingga
menambah emosi di lagu ini. Apa yang saya lakukan di sini hanyalah menyampaikan kembali
pesan yang ada di dalam lagu tersebut, meletakan struktur dasar house music pada
aransemennya, lalu menggunakan bagian lagu originalnya namun memberikan beberapa
tambahan yang memunculkan kesan yang berbeda. Sebuah proses yang menyenangkan dalam
membuat versi remix dari lagu ini.” ujar Dipha, pada pengerjaan ulang single pertama JUN
“Love We’ll Find” dari EP mendatang “All You Need”.

About JUN
Just as his star was on a steep upward ascent back in 2016, life – as it does from time to time – pulls
the handbrakes on a precocious talent who had seemingly found a natural knack for producing funky,
and danceable electronic music.
Things had all moved so quickly since throwing himself into the production world 12 months earlier,
an instant love-affair with production kit Ableton escalating at top speed to very quickly, earning the
attention of industry peers to be signed on by Warner Music.
That natural understanding of electronic music, first fostered in 2012 when attending Coachella
festival and getting all mesmerised by the Swedish House Mafia, forged the foundation in how JUN
viewed music and more importantly, himself as an artiste.
Armed with a vision of his own take on electronic music and Ableton in tow, JUN’s debut single “Kings”
in collaboration with fellow Singaporeans Gentle Bones and MYRNE quickly set the tone when it
became number one on Singapore Spotify’s Viral 50 Chart in 2015. His subsequent single “Into the
Wild” – an ear-catching and feet-shuffling single – further fuelled the steroids behind a truly meteoric
rise.
Then still going under the moniker of MMXJ, his irresistible blend of honest, ethereal, uplifting music
graced festival main-stages such as ZoukOut Singapore and Boracay as well as Djakarta Warehouse
Project (all in 2016), and left audiences in awe with melodic euphoria, earning him a bandwagon of
new fans.
However, his discography came to an unexpected and unfortunate halt. Blighted by health and mental
issues just as a new legion of fans were yearning for more, life took a drastic turn as JUN sought
refuge for the next three years to engage in a conscientious battle to get himself back on track.
The recovery was arduous – peppered with self-discovery and acknowledgement of the higher powers
– has re-tuned his views on music and life. His new five-track EP All You Need (due in Q4 2020) is a
testament of that journey – with the tracks speaking about acceptance of love, his personal
relationship with God, as well as believing in hope – all denotations carrying a common theme of
acceptance, reaching out and contentment.
To date, this rising electronic producing star has already clocked up more than six million streams on
Spotify, with his tracks consistently finding home in various Spotify playlists such as Electro Mix, Party
Life, and Top Hits Singapore. JUN’s music has also been placed in Garena’s top downloaded mobile
game M-Star, viral YouTube Channels like WahBanana and X.Kito Music, as well as Mediacorp’s
broadcast of the 2016 Olympic Games.
His early influences from punk rock bands such as Blink182, Yellowcard and The Used seem all but a
distant memory today. Described by The Hype Magazine as a “talent for epic beats and infectious
melodies”, JUN is now well poised to make up for lost time having served out an important hiatus.
In this new lease of his life, there is truth in the evidence.
