CHAPTER ONE:
“CHANT OF THE SUN SCREAM”
The End, Is The Beginning

Along the journey, she meets a male Shaman, a voyager from the land of ICARIE. Then he teaches her, and savagely nurtures her. And the Shaman sings a lamentation to her.
The Chant of the Sun Scream.
In Salutation for the King of Surya Grahan (Solar Eclipse).

More than a decade later, she sings the song of the Sun from the Shaman.
It gives her Hope in the midst of destructions and chaos in a cycle that begun to feel obsolete. In a firm realization of:

“With my consciousness of Birth, then Death is my certainty
With my consciousness of Meeting, then Separation is my certainty
With my consciousness of the Rising of the Sun, then the Sunset, is inevitable

That with assurance, Sunset is only the beginning, of a new cycle of Sunrise
In life, the I is dead, and in Death, the I will be alive

Someday, Sunset will give you the blessing of Nothingness
To become Nothing but Everything, all at once
To Forgive, Let Go and Surrender
And welcoming new Hope, the New Cycle of the Surya (Sun)
The New Cycle of Evolution”

CHAPTER TWO:
“UMBRA”
Beginning of an End

Apart from the wing of the Shaman,
Eons later,
she then travels alone in the excruciating pain of Loneliness
All she has left was and forever will is her Voice
On infinite tears of lamentation, she then unintentionally enters
an Unfamiliar Territory of an
Unfamiliar Dawn
A pitch black land, so dark that all she can see is her Breath
The Dark Land of Umbra, where only very few souls dare to enter

In the midst of Fear, Anger and Self Chaos,
she begins to dance and learn brutally, to Let Go

Decades and decades of ‘Dancing’ in suffering
she begins to ‘see’ that the gigantic Dark Land, begins to dance
in Alignment to her
she begins to ‘see’ that the gigantic Dark Land, is a gigantic Mother
With Her Ten black hands, She is the Universe Herself

she begins to ‘see’
The Mother’s blindfolded Eye, The Mother’s Heart, The Mother’s Essence

The Mother then whispers a thunder to her heart:

“Fear not of the Dark, my Child
For Darkness is older than the Light
The end was the beginning, beginning of an end
From every infinite paths, from every infinite cause and effect
Will lead to One and Only Truth, to One and Only Prima Causa
Tan hana Dharma mangrwa
Forever Dance to The One, forever Grace to The One
Burn Me to ashes, then I will be born again into a New Fire.”

Tangerang, 16 Mei 2022 – Monica Hapsari asal Tangerang di bawah bendera Orange Cliff Record asal Bandung, merilis single kedua proyek musik solonya berjudul, UMBRA.

Sebuah Persembahan Suara, untuk mengingat kembali asal dan tujuan dalam hidup dan berkehidupan, selaras dengan Jagad dan fenomenanya. Persembahan sebagai pengingat bahwa Gelap dan Terang, Mati dan Hidup bukanlah lawan, melainkan satu harmoni keutuhan dalam rantai siklus Jagad.

Pada tanggal 16 Mei 2022, akan terjadi fenomena alam Gerhana Bulan total pertama di tahun 2022 (Blood Moon) bertepatan dengan Hari Tri Suci Waisak 2566 BE, dan merupakan gerhana ke-34 dari 72 gerhana dalam siklus Saros 131. Gerhana bulan total ini tidak terlihat di Indonesia, namun dapat disaksikan di beberapa bagian Amerika, Timur Tengah, Eropa, Eropa Timur, Selandia Baru, Antartika, Afrika dan Pasifik Timur.

Single ini akan dirilis di tanggal 16 Desember 2022 pada pukul 11:11 WIB, bertepatan dengan waktu puncak Gerhana Bulan ini terjadi (fenomena Umbra). Sebagai penghormatan untuk fenomena alam, persembahan purifikasi untuk membersihkan dirinya sendiri dan bentuk tahapan penerimaan untuk melepas sebuah siklus usang yang telah mati.

Monica Hapsari memulai karir bermusik sejak tahun 2004 dengan bergabung dalam kolektif musik bernama Voyagers Of Icarie, di bawah naungan Budi Candra Marcukundha. Sejak itu, ia sempat bergabung dengan beberapa kolektif musik lain seperti Boys Are Toys, Pandai Besi dan sempat menyumbang vokal di dalam album Sinestesia oleh Efek Rumah Kaca. Sebagai pekerja seni visual dan suara, Monica sempat terlibat dalam beberapa proyek kolaborasi musik dengan beberapa kolektif musik lain, seperti White Shoes and the Couples Company, Goodnight Electric, The Upstairs, Sore, dan lain sebagainya. Monica juga berkolaborasi dalam pembuatan karya visual untuk beberapa kolektif musik seperti Sore, Max Havelaar, Are You Alone, Monkey To Millionaire, Klarinet, Ninda Felina, Noh Saleh, Andien Aisyah, Tanayu, Trio Lestari, dan lain sebagainya.

Sejak 2018, Monica memulai proyek solo untuk musik dan suara. Mengutamakan eksperimen dengan improvisasi vokal, Monica terlibat dalam beberapa ajang seperti menjadi penampil pembuka pada konser Mitski Live at Jakarta, Be The Cowboy Tour 2018, Art Jog 2018, Festival Seni Media Instrumenta 2019 di Galeri Nasional Indonesia, Nusasonic Radio #4 : Quiet Riot 2021, “Thoughts and Ideas” Vol. 2 Radio Show 2021 oleh Mutant Radio Tbilisi, Georgia, dikurasi oleh Que Sakamoto, Situated Sound IV : Eulogies, oleh ArrayMusic Toronto, Canada, 2021, H.A.H. Project dibawah OmniSpace Bandung di Zeitraumexit, Mannhein, German 2021, MUSMUS oleh Nuart Sculpture Park 2021, “Resonansi” oleh Muara Suara (ID) x NewToy (UK) didukung oleh British Council CTC (Connecting Through Culture) 2022, dan lain sebagainya.

Sebelumnya, Monica baru menelurkan satu single rilisan musik resmi proyek solonya, berjudul Chant of The Sun Scream pada tanggal 14 Desember 2020, dalam rangka persembahan untuk fenomena Gerhana Matahari total di tahun 2020 silam.

Bagi Monica, kementahan eksplorasi suara dengan segala kekurangannya, improvisasi langsung di panggung, merespon konteks dan bermain untuk mempertanyakan bentuk-bentuk pakem musik yang ada saat ini, menjadi fokusnya dalam berkarya. Untuk menghargai kegagalan, ketidaksempurnaan dan kesalahan teknis sebagai bentuk proses, dan berhenti untuk mengejar kesempurnaan dalam bermusik dan berkehidupan. Untuk memanusiakan suara, dengan segala kelemahannya, sebagai bentuk ekspresi internal diri dan tidak melulu impresi eksternal.

Monica menggunakan musik dan suara, sebagai alat untuk menjelajah dan bertumbuh ke dalam diri sendiri. Sebagai media untuk mencari, siapa dirinya, dan apa tujuan dia dilahirkan. Dengan segala kegagalan dan kekurangan.

Untuk single UMBRA, Monica berkolaborasi dengan rekan-rekan yang berbakat seperti Tesla Manaf (Kuntari) untuk proses Mixing dan Mastering, Tomy Herseta untuk Visual dan Video Lirik, Endira F. Julianda untuk arahan visual, Anindito AR dan Bob Edrian dari Orange Cliff Records.
